The Lost Pet Series: Part 2

“Maybe my human got lifted up into the air by one of those flying creatures,” Blain thought.

“Humans are too big to be picked up by one of us,” a voice said. Where was that coming from? Was Blain going crazy? He looked around and then saw one of the most colorful flying creatures in his life.

“What are you?” Blain thought.

“What are you?” The colorful flying creature replied. “God, that sounded rude. My apologies. I’m Leo.”

“Leo? Interesting name.” Blain nearly barked, wagging his tail.

“What’s your name?” Leo asked.

“Blain,” he had to bark as he wanted nothing more than to join this most colorful flying creature high up on the branches. “How do I get up there?”

“You don’t,” Leo said. “If you promise not to ruffle my feathers, I’ll come down to you. My human used to call me the most beautiful parrot ever. When she finds me again, I want her to recognize me. So, you promise, Blain, not to eat me or do anything too drastic?”

“Sure. But can I smell you better? You’re kind of far away.”

“Okay,” Leo flapped his wings and joined Blain on the ground.
